Leave Audlem on the Shropshire Union towpath . Over Moss Hall aqueduct with splendid views of the River Weaver Valley, at Bennetts Bridge leave the towpath, (or take the alternative towpath walk) turn east following the impressive Weaver Valley to Brinepits Farm.

From Brinepits Farm west to Coole Lane then north and east back to DairyHouse Farm and the lovely River Weaver Valley.

To Church Road & the very quiet village Aston juxta Mondrum - an impressive name for a tiny village

St Oswald’s Church and the War Memorial

Straight across Dairy Lane down and the track

Follow the track over the railway

Through this kissing gate and follow the track down to the canal

Arrive at Brickyard Bridge

Over down the steps and join the towpath

Where we meet up again with the towpath alternative

Pass under B 7

Past the lock

The marina

And our old friend the swan again

Slow down here or you will miss engineering history

You are passing over this aqueduct

The Weaver Valley

And the River Weaver - look for this view. But it is a serious scramble down to see the aqueduct arches!

Prescott's bridge but more of a slope these days!

We are still near the River Weaver. Church Minshull in the distance



Shepherds hut if you have sheep you might be able to overnight!!

The cross country walk and the “alternative” walk continue together past Clive Farm under a railway again to Clive House (issue here with rubbish!) and follow the route to a stile on Rilshaw Lane

Under the rail bridge again this time on Clive Back Lane

Left here to Clive House

The footpath beyond the style is overgrown builders & with debris

Continue on track for 50m and turn right here

Past Clive House

Follow the concrete sleeper cattle track then fork left here

Follow the muddy track

Across this field walk round the little wood

To this stile

& this stile left and down Rilshaw Lane

Leaving Rilshaw Lane, walk along the lovely Winsford Bottom Flash and over several foot bridges to the marina. Continue under the road bridge then up and over the road, round the Red Lion Pub and continue walking along the River Weaver.

Rilshaw Farm left into The Park

Winsford bottom Flash - the River Weaver flows in at the south and out at the north of the Fash by the marina

No short cuts please walk right down to the waters edge and follow the path

The views of the flash are worth a little extra walking

And one very long foot bridge
